Éliane Excoffier

Born in 1971, Éliane Excoffier lives and works in Sutton, QC. She has a degree in the Visual Arts and Art History from the Université de Montréal, and has been a practising photographer since 1996. Her work has been featured in a number of solo exhibitions, including at the gallery of the Université de Montréal (1997), Galerie Observatoire 4 (Montréal, 1999), Galerie Sylviane Poirier (Montréal, 2004), VU Photo (Québec City, 2006), Galerie Simon Blais (2008), Musée régional de Rimouski (2009), and Stephen Bulger Gallery (Toronto, 2012).

Her work has also been on view in many group exhibitions, among them Nouvelle année, nouveaux travaux, at Galerie Mistral (Montréal, 1998), Acquisitions de la Collection Prêt d’œuvres d’art, at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (2000), MM03 Montréal, at the Fondation MontmArt (Paris, 2003), Hyperliens, at Galerie Graff (Montréal, 2006), Enfants de Cartier : photographie contemporaine canadienne, at the Théâtre de la Photographie et de l’Image (Nice, 2007), Sublime Démesure, at the Musée d’art contemporain des Laurentides (Saint-Jérôme, 2009), and Extreme Gestures: Showcase of Montreal Art, at the Armory Show (New York, 2011).

Éliane Excoffier’s works are included in various private and public collections in Canada and abroad, among them those of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Musée régional de Rimouski, Prêt d’œuvres d’art collection of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, National Bank of Canada and Fondation MontmArt.
