Born in 1971, Éliane Excoffier lives and works in Montreal. She holds a degree in plastic arts and the history of art from the University of Montreal. She has devoted herself to photography since 1996.Her solo exhibitions in Quebec and Europe include Galerie VU (2006), Galerie Sylviane Poirier (2004), Galerie Observatoire-4 (1999), and the University of Montreal art gallery (1997). Excoffier has also shown her work at many group exhibitions: the Toronto International Art Fair (2007); Enfants de Cartier: Photographie Contemporaine Canadienne, Théâtre de la Photographie et de l'Image (Nice, 2007); the AIPAD Photography Show (New York, 2007); Hyperliens, Galerie Graff (2006); Fondation MontmArt (Paris, 2003); Génération Montréal (2002), Acquisitions de la Collection Prêt d'œuvres, Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (2000); Nouvelle année, nouveaux travaux, Galerie Mistral (1998). Her photographs can also be found in many public and private collections, both in Canada and abroad.
