Born in Montreal, on March 9, 1963, Carol Bernier received a CEGEP degree in Arts in 1983, a BFA in 1988 and a Master’s degree in 1994 from UQAM. Her studies and workshops in Quebec and abroad include clothing design at College Lasalle, and printmaking in Paris and Hungary. Many trips to Turkey, Morocco, France, Belgium and Japan have complemented her artistic training.
She has held solo exhibitions at Galerie Simon Blais (1995–2007) and the UQAM Art Gallery (1994) in Montreal; Galerie Le Sphinx in Montauban, France (1999); Galerie Art/Espace in Thonon, France (2000); and Galeria Principal Sombrerers in Barcelona, Spain (2000).
Carol Bernier has also participated in many group shows, including Sortir du cadre in Montreal (1992) and Saint-Lambert (1993); Foire d'art contemporain in Montreal (1994); Expoarte / Feria international del arte / Perspectiva del arte actual de Quebec in Mexico (all three in 1995); Québec: La Belle Amérique (1998) in Paris and Brussels; New Art Barcelona (1999, 2000) in Barcelona; Works on Paper Art Fair in New York (2000–2005), and many times at Galerie Simon Blais.
