Through drawing and painting, Isabelle Guimond examines her personal relationship with images, their role in the world and in storytelling. Her art shifts between a social critique of our way of life and an intimate narrative that is close to fictionalized autobiography: between capturing an image through photography and relinquishing it through the act of painting, between the need to describe the world she lives in and the contingencies inherent to whatever medium she employs.
